Current Openings:
Freelancers Union, is seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to serve as an integral member of our Finance team and play a critical role in the launch and growth of an exciting new enterprise. The ideal candidate will have recent or current experience in a health or other insurance carrier.
Responsibilities also include:
- Assist with the preparation of monthly budgets, forecasts and allocation models for Freelancers Union and related entities in accordance with financial closing calendar timelines
- Determine and calculate proper revenue/expense allocations between departments and entities.
- Compile and retrieve data for analyses and develop data management strategies
- Provide support for expense and budget analysis to other departments as needed
- Assist with Annual Operating Plan and forecasts
- Ad hoc special projects as needed
Candidates of interest will have completed a Bachelors Degree (preferably in Accounting or Finance) and will demonstrate the following:
- Two or more years professional-level quantitative financial analytical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience- Demonstrated planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills, and strong quantitative and statistical modeling skills
- Outstanding technology skills, including strong proficiency with MS Office suite
- Experience with or knowledge of statutory accounting for insurance companies and Sungard EAS accounting software (preferred)
- Outstanding communication skills

+ Receptionist/ Office Coordinator
Our success continues to drive the growth of our organization, and we are seeking a friendly, energetic, organized and like-minded Office Coordinator / Receptionist to join our team and make an immediate contribution to our success.
Responsibilities will include:
- Greet and assist office visitors
- Answer general office phone calls and direct as appropriate
- General administrative responsibilities including visitor and phone reception
- General office and facility management responsibilities, including: Management of office appearance and upkeep (via cleaning vendors, building maintenance, etc); Coordinate catering for office events; Communication of organization information (hours, closings, etc.); Liaison with building management as needed
- Management of orders (food, supplies, water, etc)
- Mail distribution and management of outgoing mail (courier and regular)
- Assist Operations and Events teams with special projects as needed
- Provide other administrative support as needed
Candidates will demonstrate:
- A friendly, outgoing attitude and a desire to help the organization whenever necessary through strong teamwork
Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and a creative approach to problem solving
High level of comfort, patience and sensitivity during interactions with people at all levels
Proficiency in the use of MS Office Suite and a willingness to learn new technologies

Our Technology Team
We are experiencing exceptional growth and technology plays a central, critical role in keeping pace with our growth. Our creative, dedicated and agile IT team is constantly in search of fresh ideas, new technologies and original input from team members. We’re looking for a talented Sr. Database Administrator with exceptional skills in:
6 years experience working with PostgreSQL/Oracle/Mysql/DB2
In-depth knowledge of data handling and SQL
Integration/migration experience between disparate data sources
Experience with software
Data warehousing implementation and maintenance knowledge
Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools such as SAS, Business Objects, or Cognos
