Freelancers Union 2008 Survey
Each year, we survey our membership to explore current issues affecting the independent workforce. This year, we are exploring freelancers’ experiences in the current economic climate and their opinions about institutions that deliver health insurance and retirement benefits.
The 2008 survey and report will build upon an existing body of research by Freelancers Union that includes studies of gaps in insurance coverage; affordability and access to insurance and healthcare; rates of uninsurance for younger members of the workforce; the effectiveness of arts funding at addressing the individual needs of the artistic community; and other issues relevant to the independent workforce.
A high level of participation in the survey is important because the information collected is a significant component of our advocacy campaigns that benefit the independent workforce. Survey responses provide the data we need to focus our efforts on the specific aspects of these issues that are impacting respondents most critically. We encourage all members and their friends and colleagues to take a few minutes to complete the survey and make a significant contribution to our ongoing efforts on behalf of the independent workforce.
